Your wedding amongst works by César Manrique

The Monumento al Campesino House-Museum is a place of contrasts where white and green —very typical colours for inland houses on the island of Lanzarote— blend with the black tones of the volcanic earth. Not only will you discover an important part of the island’s history here but you will also find a wonderful place to hold your wedding.

Located at the geographical centre of the island, the Monumento al Campesino (monument to the country folk) is the work of César Manrique and was built to acknowledge the work of the men and women of the Lanzarote countryside, who tackled very adverse conditions to bring life to this territory.  It has a magnificent exhibition of farming items and it will take us on a visual and sensory tour that will bring us closer to the reality of the lives of our ancestors as they worked to ensure the greenery could forge its way amongst the volcanic stone.

After our visit to the museum (with free admission), we suggest a stop at the restaurant, which serves the traditional flavours and dishes of the island’s cuisine and will delight all tastes. It has two areas for holding banquets – one with capacity for 40 people and the other for up to 500.

The whole place is made up of several buildings. This means there is a wide range of options for cocktails and festivities. The bride and groom come in through a different entrance to the guests —through an excavated tunnel that always has a pleasant temperature and the sound of water in the background.

The venue is watched over by the majestic Monumento a la Fecundidad (monument to fertility), a 15-metre-high sculpture created by the artist from old water tanks from boats and iron and cement objects, and which has become one of the icons of the island.

Don’t miss everything Lanzarote can offer you for the most important day of your life.
